Neurofeedback Therapy

Enhance Your Brain Function

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment that aims to improve brain function and alleviate symptoms for numerous mental health disorders.

What is Neurofeedback Therapy?

Neurofeedback, qEEG/NFB, is a therapeutic technique that utilizes real-time monitoring of brain activity to teach self-regulation of brain function. It is a non-invasive method that aims to improve brain function and alleviate symptoms associated with various neurological and psychological conditions.

Neurofeedback treatment has shown promise in enhancing brain function and alleviating symptoms of various neurological and psychological disorders. It operates by training individuals to regulate their brain activity, using real-time feedback to promote healthier neural patterns.

Patients undergoing neurofeedback can expect improvements in cognitive functions, emotional regulation, and overall mental well-being. Many report increased focus, reduced anxiety, and better mood stability. The long-term effects are particularly encouraging, as the brain’s ability to self-regulate often leads to sustained benefits even after the completion of the treatment.

What is neurofeedback used for?

What to Expect with Neurofeedback Therapy

Before beginning neurofeedback treatment at Hopemark Health, prospective patients undergo an initial consultation to assess their suitability for the treatment. If deemed suitable, patients will be tentatively scheduled for a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG), a brain mapping procedure. This mapping is conducted at the beginning and end of the neurofeedback treatment, with additional sessions if necessary.

Following the qEEG, patients meet with the clinician to review the results. Neurofeedback sessions are then scheduled based on the findings.

Neurofeedback sessions involve two different 30-minute appointments within a one-hour timeframe. The first 30 minutes consist of a therapy session, while the subsequent 30 minutes focus on neurofeedback training. This combined approach aims to maximize treatment effectiveness.

Patients will need to commit to at least twice-weekly sessions, although additional sessions may be recommended depending on individual needs. All patients should plan to complete 40 sessions (approximately 6 months). Some patients may need more or less depending on their response to the training. This consistent schedule is crucial for achieving optimal results in treatment.
