Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Treatments

Untangle and Uplift

About OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental condition marked by unreasonable thoughts and fears, known as obsessions, which lead those affected into repetitive behaviors, called compulsions. Obsessions and compulsions will interfere with your daily life and give unneeded stress. Attempting to ignore these obsessions will likely just increase distress and anxiety.

Obsessions come in a variety of forms, such as fear of dirt, a need for symmetry and order, aggressive or self-harming thoughts. These lead to compulsions that often include washing and cleaning, checking, counting, orderliness, following a strict routine, and demanding reassurances.

How Hopemark Treats OCD

At Hopemark, we use a comprehensive and integrated approach to treatment that involves testing, medication management, psychotherapy, as well other necessary treatments, all overseen by board-certified psychiatrists. We pride ourselves in treating patients holistically, versus focusing only on one problem or one solution.

It is important to have an individual plan for each patient, therefore we begin our process with pharmacogenetic and/or cognitive testing. Once we have learned more about you as a patient through these tests, a holistic, multifactorial treatment plan is implemented, starting with medication management. These treatment plans are created with more than just your current symptoms in mind. Our ultimate goal is to get to the root cause of those symptoms and support you in your psychological growth and long-term health.
